The all-new Xiaomi Redmi 5A Rose Gold color variant will be available for sale through both Mi.com and Flipkart from 12 pm on Thursday. The previous two color variants, Dark Grey and Gold, were launched last year in November with a starting price of Rs. 5,999.
The official twitter handle of Xiaomi India shared in a tweet, “I'm beautiful. I'm powerful. I'm everyone's choice. Guess who am I? Watch this space tomorrow."
Flipkart has already listed the smartphone on its website. The smartphone comes in two options - 2GB and 3GB RAM versions at Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 6,999 respectively.
The move by the phone maker to launch the rose color variant ahead of Valentine's Week appears a good strategy to lure young buyers. Furthermore, the company has already launched the Rose Gold variant of Mi A1 in the mid-range segment i.e. the sub-Rs. 15,000 price bracket.

The 5-inch screen has HD display. The front and rear cameras are 5-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture lens and 13-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture lens respectively. In terms of connectivity the new variant will come with 4G VoLTE support, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v.4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, Infrared, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The phone comes with two onboard storage options 16GB or 32GB. With the microSD card slot option, the memory is further expandable to 128GB. The 3000mAh battery, when fully charged, delivers up to eight days of standby time and seven hours of video playback. The battery dimensions are 140.4x70.1x8.35mm and weight is 137 grams. Onboard Phone sensors include an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer.
