Xolo has finally come out with its custom UI on Wednesday which has been launched along with company’s new handset Xolo 8X-1000. The homegrown mobile maker has brought much awaited Hive UI on top of Android. This is the effort which makes the company a competitor of Oppo and Xiaomi which had already been brought their UI, named ColorOS and MIUI respectively. Hive UI has been made entry in an event, held in New Delhi.
Xolo 8X-1000 has also been released in event which runs on the recently launched custom UI of company. The phone is claimed to be the one which has Hive UI.
Hive UI
"Made in India, Made for India" tag has been given to the Xolo’s Hive UI. In the company's software design centre at Bangalore, the interface has been designed to make the interface of Android smartphone more attractive. This UI supports Android KitKat platform, having several visual modifications and alteration.
It supports Edge store for downloading variety of themes, wallpapers and ringtones. It also has a new theme launcher. This store has number of themes and wallpapers created by Indian artists and communities. Hive also comes pre-loaded with few themes. There is a Connect feature also bundled in the UI which helps users to connect with development team of Xolo. Custom widgets and apps are also available for users to experience the customization at best like Fusion X, new contacts app which includes with Facebook integration, calendar, Chameleon widget for notifications on weather, missed calls, SMS and email, and overhauled gallery app.
Quick setting has been refreshed with new looks to make it accessible on dual-SIM handset. This UI has been introduced with Xolo 8X-1000 smartphone but will soon come on other company’s smartphones.
Xolo 8X-1000
The first smartphone of company which comes equipped with company’s newly released Hive UI with Android 4.4 KitKat platform support. The 5-inch HD display offers 720x1280 pixels resolution. It is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects the phone from any scratch, crack and damage. An octa-core MediaTek (MT6592M) processor performs impressively fast at 1.4GHz clock speed.
Xolo 8X-1000 comes interlaced with Mali 450-MP4 GPU for offering sound graphic result to give good gaming experience. It is carved with 2GB of RAM which is wonderfully crafted in device to make users’ experience smooth when they use several applications at a same time in simultaneous manner. 16GB of inbuilt storage increases the usability by providing more space with expandable storage of upto 32GB using microSD card.
The rear panel gets snapper of 8-megapixel clarity with LED flash and Exmor R Sensor. On the other side, a 2-megapixel camera is also positioned on front panel. Xolo 8X-1000 comes with 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, and Bluetooth connectivity options. 1920mAh battery is capable to deliver up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 352 hours of standby time. Sale of the phone will be started from next week which is priced at Rs. 13,999.
