If convicted, they could be banned for life by the BCCI.

They were arrested by the Delhi police special cell along with 7 bookies. Ankit chawan and Ajeet Chandila were arrested from hotel while Sreesant was arrested from his friend's home. They have brought to Delhi from Mumbai and few other players are also in doubt.

Sreesant had to give 14 runs in T20 match played in Mohali on 9th May but he couldn’t fulfill his commitment by giving 13 runs. He threw the last ball as no ball but it was not considered by the umpire. Delhi police has claimed that they have a recording of this complete issue. Ajeet Chandila also had to give 14 or more runs in his over but he forgot to up his t-shirt as a signal so bookies refused to give him Rs.20 lakh. Same as Ankit Chawan's deal was fixed in Rs.60 lakh in their match against Mumbai Indians.

Police commissioner has stated that the players were instructed by the bookies and talked in their code words so other players couldn't understand them. The further investigation of the matter is taking place and the police is thinking that the matter is related to underworld.
