The day has come when the oldest social networking website, called Orkut has been reached to its rearward. A decade ago, a completely new invention in the internet world had arrived to connect people socially on Internet, which got the name "Orkut." The name, it has received from its creator ‘Orkut Büyükkökten’ who has been recently holding the Product Manager position in Google.
September 30, 2014 is the last day when you will see the Orkut alive. Now, it’s near to shutdown. The Brazilians and Indians were very used to with this first social network. Simply, the addiction for the aged Orkut was found especially in both Countries most and both will mourn over the oldest and glorious Orkut’s shutdown.
Social Networking Service which came in existence in 2004 and achieved a gigantic success with millions of active users. It is said that few millions Brazilian and Indian people are still active on Orkut as per ZDnet report. However, Google had brought Google Plus in the place of Orkut, but it couldn’t find the success which Orkut had achieved. Even, it is not standing in the foray to compete with the popular social website, Facebook.
What Google has decided for Orkut and where will the fortune bring it? All are just on the sly. Well, the point is what Google is offering to the users of Orkut on the day of its tribute is some time, to say Goodbye to its most popular and 10 years old social networking service. Users have only Tuesday to download their all data from Orkut. Google has ceased the new account creation for its aged social platform from now. The search engine giant stated, "People can export their profile data, community posts, scraps and photos using Google Takeout (available until September 2016)."
Google also said, "Over the past decade, YouTube, Blogger and Google+ have taken off, with communities springing up in every corner of the world. Because the growth of these communities has outpaced Orkut's growth, we've decided to bid Orkut farewell."
The archive of the all communities would create after the shutdown of the 'oldest and goldest' social platform. People who don’t want their name and post in the archive, can permanently delete their Orkut account from Google. Now, the time has come for the aged social networking gargantuan to say Goodbye to the Internet world and its halcyon years.
