It was back in January when Facebook launched the Lite version of its mobile app for testing and now the app is almost ready for using at global scale. The company has also announced on Thursday that it has already rolling its Facebook Lite version Android App, which is meant to consume less data, less battery and will load faster too. Well, it is definitely a good step that has been taken by the company to broader its presence in the market where internet connections are slow or not stable for long time.
In a press post, the company said that “In many areas, networks can be slow and not able to support all the functionality found in Facebook for Android.” It has been built for these situations, giving people a reliable Facebook experience when bandwidth is at a minimum. The new app will not offer all the features, but will only allow to use basic ones like news feeds, updates photos or see, notifications about like and comment and others too.
The size of the app would also be only 1 MB and I guess that is just the right thing Facebook has done for the growing Asian markets and specially in India. The company will also launch the app soon in Latin America, Europe and Africa as well.
