Facebook owned Oculus VR will begin taking orders of its Rift Virtual headsets from January 6. The company will showcased the gadget at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) in Las Vegas. Oculus, it is the biggest names in the game, is opening for pre orders start Wednesday at 8 AM, on the company's website.
Till now, the company has not revealed the pricing details for the virtual Rift, which is expected to ship by March. Earlier in May, the company hinted that consumers could spend around a total of $1,500 for the headset bundled with a PC that costs $1,000 or less.Oculus declined to provide further details on the price and the shipping date of the Virtual Rift.
Rift pre-orders will come with two games,“Lucky's Tale” and “Eve:Valkyrie.”
The company is touted 2016 as the year of Virtual Reality, as the technology finally makes its way from research projects to store shelves. Till present, there are ony two headsets which are being offered to Google's Cardboard and Samsung's Gear VR. It is expected that virtual reality products like the Sony PlayStation VR and HTC Vive are to be released this year.
Facebook's co-founder and chief Mark Zuckerberg revealed in the conference that, “We believe the more power people have to share and experience all kinds of different things in the world, the better the world will be."
The Consumers Electronics Show (CES 2016) is expected to introduce a new era of Virtual Reality offerings to be the techie headsets, designed by Oculus, Sony and Valve.
