Google brings Hindi Language Internet Accessibility for Hindi Speakers

India is the growing country in the realm of Internet accessibility, but it sometimes faces lack of intrest by Hindi spoken users who find themselves uncomfortable to search topics in English. Half of the Indian population are Hindi spoken and hardly understand English. Keeping this inconvenience in mind, Google has decided to bring something informative for Indians and the result is right here. The search giant has introduced a portal for web surfing to increase the ratio of Indian people on Internet.

hindiweb.com has been introduced with a goal to increase the internet accessibility in India with Indian language support. Recently a limit of content is available on Internet in Hindi which regularly decreases the amount of Indian Internet users. This new portal has all the Hindi content on web to explore.

Google India MD Rajan Anandan said, "We have 198 million (19.8 crore) Indian English speakers. Almost all of them are online." He also said that around 400 million among them are Hindi speakers who find less Hindi content on Web and now the Google’s aim is to "get 500 million Indians online by 2017." The main problem is the lack of Hindi content and Rajan said to everyone to add as many content on hindiweb to increase the discoverability.

Introducing this portal, Google is trying to encourage more people to post the content on it. He also said that India also sits on the back bench in the department of apps in Indian language. Prakash Javadekar, Minister of State Information & Broadcasting has taken the initiative to launch the hindiweb.com. The portal has already partnered with several media Companies and many others, including Aaj tak, Amar Ujala, Dainik Bhaskar, NDTV, India Today, Webduniya, Native Planet and many more. There is 15 Hindi fonts which are already available on "google.com/fonts" and Company has plans to add upto 50 fonts more by end of the year.
