The Cupertino giant: Apple has already managed to grab the attention of tech world by revealing some facets of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2015 in previous month, which is going to start on June 8 in San Francisco. And, some tidings regarding its next-generation operating system: iOS 8.4 has also brought the corporation in headlines. This time, firm has kicked off the third beta of this firmware for developers and second public beta version for AppleSeed testers.
As yet, few attributes of this upcoming software have come into view, wherein inclusion of a revamped and enhanced Music App is quite appealing. To recall, we have heard about this feature of OS during the launch of iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3 public beta. Notably, Music app will have a completely new and eye-catching design as well as it will be more intuitive than its predecessors.
Besides getting a makeover due to several changes in UI, the application will offer a novel persistent mini-player, playlist features and easier access to iTunes Radio in order to be more user-friendly. The offline music mode, advanced search option have also been suggested by multiple reports. The overhauled music playback app also hints about advent of brand-new iTunes streaming music service at WWDC 2015.
According to TechCrunch, "The betas appear to be helping refine and zap bugs in this service, and there's a presumption that in a release update, we'll see the streaming services housed within the Music app alongside local libraries and iTunes Radio, as well."
The second big amelioration in iOS 8.4 Beta 3 is its support for iBooks Author App for iPhones. As the matter of fact, iBooks Author textbook is part of Apple education initiative just like Amazon Kindle, but iBooks work only on the iPad and Mac. It had been introduced in 2012 and company describes this quest as a tool for "educators and smaller publishers to create their own stylish digital books, which incorporates galleries, video, interactive diagrams, 3D objects, mathematical expressions and more."
In iOS 8.4, these dynamic textbooks bring content to life in ways the printed page never could, in which users can play videos, embed Study Cards, and connect to the internet. As per a report of 9to5Mac, iBooks run in their digital forms with videos, glossary, highlighting and notes on both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The latest iOS build is available to download for developers and people in the AppleSeed testing program and they can grab it as an over-the-air update on a device running previous beta. Moreover, firmware is expected to come shortly for general public, while its successor: iOS 9 has been envisaged to see light of the day during the upcoming event of Apple, but we are yet to hear some official words.
