Microsoft, the Redmond-based company, has recently revamped its Edge Browser. With the new version, Microsoft claims that Edge delivers 17 to 70 percent more battery life than other already established browsers such as Chrome, firefox and even Opera.

To prove this the company has recently launched a video test, in which the battery life of the laptops running Edge was compared with the battery life of other browsers such as Chrome, Firefox etc. In this video the Chrome lasted for 4 hours 20 minutes, Firefox lasted for more than 5 hours, and Opera with its new battery saver feature lasted for 6 hours and 18 mins. Edge browser with 7 hours and 22 minutes was clearly the winner.

There is only one catch that only Windows 10 devices with the Edge browser get their low power efficiency. The Microsoft Edge browser lasts 3 hours more than Chrome. It is to be noted that this test has been taken under the most ideal conditions, and results may vary with different Windows 10 devices.

Microsoft further states in its blog, "We continue to focus on power efficiency with regular updates to Windows 10, and the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will include even more power-saving improvements, using fewer CPU cycles, consuming less memory, and minimising the impact of background activity and peripheral content like Flash advertisements. These improvements will build on the efficiency demonstrated below to make sure you can stay online longer with Microsoft Edge."
