Microsoft has announced that the company is all set to launch the updated version of Cortana in India and 12 more countries during this summer. India will be among the selected 13 countries where an overhauled variant of Microsoft's voice-based Cortana will take off later this summer as a component of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, declared by the Microsoft.
Apart from India, other nations where the overhauled adaptation of Cortana will be launched as the Windows 10 Anniversary Update includes the US, UK, China, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and Brazil. Cortana's Group Program Manager Marcus Ash said amid a session on the sidelines of company's Build 2016 conference in San Francisco. He also told that the upgrade will be accessible for both smartphone and PCs and Microsoft is determined for "hitting the nail on the head" for company's "highly priorities nations", especially India, China, and Japan.
Ash said Cortana is the English language based product and in India the distinctive provincial dialects and tongues prevail in the nation, so Microsoft is beginning to consider how to extend it to alternate languages. "There are all these different languages and regional dialects. That's the thing they are starting to think about how to expand (to other languages)," he said.
Cortana was first made accessible in India in November a year ago when the Microsoft had revealed its first significant redesign to the Windows 10 working framework. At the ongoing Build 2016 conference, Nadella had showcased upgrades of Cortana, which was presented two years back, and declared sneak peaks of new cloud administrations and toolbox intended to make savvy bots.
