The Telecom regulatory of India i.e. Trai on Friday had said that it will launch a mobile application named as MySpeed that will help a user to measure Internet speed on his/her smartphone. The MySpeed is a free App for Android smartphones that uses 23MB after it is introduced on the handset. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has launched this application called MySpeed to help users and keep a tab on their mobile data speed. However, the most attractive feature of the application is that it can report connectivity issues to TRAI, regardless of the mobile or broadband service provider. The initiative has been taken by TRAI after there were a ton of complaints regarding the internet speed issues. It must also be noted that this is the first application that has been launched under the Digital India initiative, which is specifically attempting to handle the issue of poor data speeds.
The MySpeed application has an interface that is simple to follow. There are four different categories for specific purposes. To start with is the test itself, where you can check the Internet pace of a mobile 3G/4G connection or the house broadband's Wi-Fi speed. The second class is a history page where all your test records are stored for you to perceive how your Internet speed has been over a timeframe alongside your location on the map. The guide part will also give an idea regarding the zone where the data speed was poor. The third one is a separation of all the chronicled information, with data, for example, the accurate area of all past test, date, download speed, transfer speed, delay in system and system dependability.

This page also has "send to TRAI" tab, which consequently sends the entire report to the telecom regulators. "The MySpeed App, which could be downloaded from the mobile sewa app store, allows users to measure their data speed experience and send the results to this (Trai Analytics Portal)," the Telecom Regulatory Authority said in a statement. The portal and the application will be formally launched by the regulator on July 5, the statement said.
