Uber, a taxi providing service company in its recent announcement has cleared its intention of evolving a personalized web of mapping program internally. This is a major step watching out that most of the taxi providing service companies have been taking the help of world's prominent mapping service of Google.

Uber's head of mapping Brian Mcclendon, which was former Executive of Google Map itself, told that the decision would be a “doubling down on our investment in mapping,” with the overall investment of $500 million close to INR 3338.32 crore. He also stated that their mapping cars like that of Google will roam around Mexico to the US this upcoming summer and then they will head towards India.

Uber Self Driven Cars

All the taxi services and Uber itself has been taking the services of Google Map for directing their driver's for the day to day operations, but the companies pointed out that this data is not helping them for relevant pickups and drops.

Google and Uber had their history from very early as Google's one of the Ventures has put their hands on the investment portion of Uber, this has made the twist more tedious as both are now putting their legs into self-driven automatic cars concept and eventually sitting face to face for competition.

This course can also bring a more specific attention of Uber towards the Google Map Services as the plan ahead is to start a web of automatic self-driven futuristic taxis. Talking about the Indian segment of the company, it has not come into the position to give a hard setback to the local rival – Ola, a Mumbai-based taxi service in spite of investing $500 million till now this year.

But, with the recent tie-up with a Chinese tech giant Didi Chuxing, the company is expected to make overwhelming results including an investment of approximately Rs. 6,700 crore as per a commitment made by the Founder Travis Kalanick, Uber in July previous year.
