The most renowned Facebook-owned leading messaging application WhatsApp now features new Unicode 9.0 emojis in its new 2.17.44 version. Both the leading platforms iOS and Android received a fresh set of emojis and now the company wants to bring them for all of its Android app users, no matter what version of Android OS you are running. Initially, the new emojis are available only in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android App only, but will soon be seen in other versions too.
The new set of Unicode 9.0 emojis features some new emoticons and objects including a clown, an avocado, a girl and a boy doing a facepalm and a shrug, a butterfly, bacon, a nauseated face, a new dancing boy, a whiskey glass and much more. Apple already unveiled the Unicode 9.0 emojis in its iOS 10.2, whereas Google introduced the new set in the Android 7.1 Nougat update.
According to some recent data, a total of only 0.1 percent of the active Android users run Android Nougat on their devices, which means almost nobody is using it in the real world. With the help of beta version, WhatsApp is letting its users experience the new set of emojis. So, if any user wants to download the beta version, he/she can head on Google Play Store >App Listings > Become a Beta tester. Your beta version will start downloading just a few minutes after entering the beta testing mode.
Moreover, the leading messaging application now enabled full support for Android Nougat notifications, which will now show all of the unread messages from a single conversation, not just the latest message like the previous version. A new feature is also under testing process, which will allow a user to edit, revoke messages after sending them and to know if your WhatsApp friend changes his/her status.
