WhatsApp rolled out a new update on their messaging App for Android devices. In this update, now users have many of the new features including 'Unread chat', new emoji and different colors for some selected emoji, Low data usage and custom notification for each user.
Now Android users have a new option to mark any specific chat conversation as unread or read in WhatsApp messenger. Updated App also have some new emoji, including new Spock-inspired Vulcan salute along with a middle finger gesture. Users can also choose different skin colors in some of the emoji by taping and holding on them.
App users can also customize notification settings of any individual contact/chat. This new feature enable the users to customize notification tone for messages, Light alert(If the Android smartphone have notification alert LED), ringtone for calls and vibrate option for messaging notifications as well as call notifications. There is also a Mute option added for individual user chat. Earlier “Mute” option was only available for group chats. The update also brings 'Low data usage' option to lower the data usage used during WhatsApp calls.
Also, When receiving a contact card, users can quickly message or save the contact if they're WhatsApp user. The update now support two new regional languages namely Urdu and Bengali.
