Windows Hello Comes to Windows 10 to Offer Biometric, Iris Log-in [Video]

We have seen plenty of features of Windows 10 at its January Technical Preview. At that time, Microsoft had promised for elaborating few more features later as the company is working on the same. Finally, we have got the chance to talk about a new and secure feature of the latest Windows 10 platform. This new feature will not only add more security to your device’s data, but will also make your every kind of stuff on device impossible to hack.

Windows Hello – name of this new feature which will add biometric authentication compulsory to access your Windows 10 powered device. Redmond giant has thought to offer you a worry-free life with its next-iteration of OS, offering the option of fingerprint, IRIS, and facial authentication. Fingerprint reader, illuminated IR sensor and biometric sensor help the device in making such authentication possible.

A new framework has designed for this purpose, named Hello. It will store users’ scanned details of fingerprint and face. Simply press your finger or show your face to instantly access your Windows 10 powered device. All your applications, services and content are safe and can’t be accessed until you log-in through biometric scan or face detection.

Special hardware and software are combined to help Windows Hello to recognize you. Your picture can not be used for unlocking as infrared technology is used to recognize your face in diversify lighting condition.

One more option will also be bringing for the same purpose which is codenamed Passport. It requires re-authenticating the entered password with a PIN, which is encrypted on device locally. This will help users which have no biometric sensors installed on their devices. However, there is no idea when the company will give a try to this new feature in its Technical Preview, but it is said that they have started manufacturing the Windows 10 devices with Windows Hello capability.
