Apparently, this health-oriented gadget is not a whole new wearable device because it was originally launched in July 2014 and already available to buy in China. Hashing about specifications, timepiece doesn't include a display, it just has three indicator lights, where each one is 1mm in diameter and manufactures have crafted these by using micro-laser perforation technology.
Featuring aluminum surface, bracelet of wrist-worn is crafted by TPSiV material, whereby it incorporates anti-UV, anti-microbial and anti-allergic properties. The device is suitable for even most sensitive skin that gives a soft touch and fits snugly for ultimate wearing comfort, says Xiaomi. Notably, body of Mi Band is dust and water-resistant due to IP67 certification.
Coming to internal hardware, activity tracker encompasses Bluetooth 4.0, so it lights up and vibrates as long as it will be within Bluetooth range. The gadget is clubbed with military-grade sensors in order to keep eyes on wearer's tiny bodily movement. It monitors daily fitness level, tracks walking distance, analyzes sleep quality and calculates calories burned as well as alerts the users for daily exercise targets to make their lives healthier.
The band comprises smart vibration alarm functionality and its appropriators will be able to sync data in smartphone with companion app: Mi Fit, through which they can store all the recorded data related to fitness and sleep. Being a fitness-centric tool, it also notifies for incoming calls from the paired phone. Fueled by a 41mAh battery, Xiaomi Mi Band has been claimed to render 30 days of lifespan.
Additionally, smart band can unlock the handset without a password if wearer is holding the phone in same hand, but this phone unlocking feature requires smartphones with MIUI or Android 5.0 and above. Moreover, this creation of tech giant is compatible with Mi 3, Redmi Note 4G or any device with Android 4.4 KitKat OS and its above versions. It also supports iPhones that run on iOS 7.0 and above.
According to Xiaomi, registrations for fitness tracking band will be opened from 28th of April through company's Mi.com portal. To lure the Indian masses, corporation has announced that first 1,000 registrants will get the band at just Re. 1.
