Air Asia starting Joint Venture with Tata Group in India

After retirement of Ratan Tata, the new chairman of the Tata group Cyrus Mistry is going to take a big step in the business. Company is going to start its airline services and Air Asia has asked for permission to start a joint venture with Tata group.

Air Asia has asked for 49% share in the joint venture of Arun Bhatia's Telestra tradeplus and Tata group. It has also asked for the permission of foreign investment. Indian government has made the rules easy for foreign investment in the aviation sector. Air Asia and Tata has started this deal by those easy rules. Government has given the permission of 49% foreign direct investment in aviation sector.

Tata group already has many business plants in various sectors such as automobiles, telecommunications, hotels, power and chemicals etc. The headquarter of the group is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Tata steel, Tata motors, Tata consultancy services, Titan Industries and tata global beverages are many units of the group. It is an Indian conglomerate founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868.

Now the company is starting aviation service in which it is taking first step. It will decide the future of Indian aviation industries in private sector.
