BMW and Toyota, the world biggest manufacturer G-E hybrid vehicles are going to join hand to produce a midsize sports car thus they are their cooperation amid industry efforts to limit development costs. According to company, both companies will set up partnerships to make fuel-cell systems, lightweight materials and lithium air batteries.
As mentioned in the agreement this joint work is to begin in 2011 in which BMW will provide diesel engines to Toyota whereas both collaborate on lithium-ion batteries and other fuel saving projects. This joint tech development allows both carmakers to contribute spending on vehicles and recover investments quicker as parts are used in more models.
The collaboration of BMW with Toyota allows both to expand its European lineup of diesel powered vehicles. Both are the Asia’s largest carmaker companies and their partnership paves the way for the company to team up with the biggest producer of hybrid vehicles.
