The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a charge-sheet after investigate the irregularities in 2G spectrum allocation to mobile service provider companies at the time of National democratic alliance (NDA) government. This matter is related to Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and other telecom companies. The investigation agency has estimated the loss of Rs.846 crore.
CBI has charged Airtel, Vodafone India Ltd, Hatchison Max and sterling cellular, retired IAS officer and former telecom secretary Shyamal Ghosh for extra spectrum allocation in the sheet under the court of CBI judge O.P.Saini. CBI said in the court that former deputy director general of the department of telecommunication and former director of BSNL J. R. Gupta have created the witness but their names are entered as accused in the FIR. CBI has submitted the list of 73 witnesses for indictment.
Investigation agency said that there was no action taken against former telecom minister late Promod Mahajan and the distributers of Airtel and Vodafone. Court has decided the date of thinking on crime-sheet as 14th January 2013.
