Final decision on 2G spectrum soon to be taken

The committee led by finance minister P. Chidambaram will take their final decision on various issues related to 2G spectrum. They may take decision on auction in upcoming financial year. Empowered group of ministers probably will discuss about sale of 800 MHz band spectrum. This spectrum is being used for CDMA services.

Sources have said that the selling of 1800 and 900 MHz band was discussed in the last meeting of high level committee but the auction date was not fixed. Another source has said that spectrum auction will take place in this year but it cannot process till 18th January.

The auction of those spectrum take place which could not sold in 1800 mega hertz band. In addition, the companies have to renew the license in 2014; their 900 MHz band spectrum will also auction.
