India First Supercomputer Param Yuva II by C-DAC

India's fastest super computer Param Yuva II was unveiled on 8th February. This super computer ranks 62 among all the super computer of the world and if we talk about its power efficiency then it comes 33 rank. It delivers 360.8 Teraflop/second on Community standard Linpack benchmark It was developed by Center for Development of Advancement Computering (C-DAC) which is situated in Pune. Since from the establishment of C-DAC it has developed various PARAM series super computer.

According to Electronics and Information Technology Organization Param Yuva II proves to bea boon to do scientific studies. System data analysis, weather information, scientific data processing etc can be done in fastest way. This system has 524 tera flops computering power that means it consumes 35% les power than other Param computers. The cost of building this system is 15 crore.

The main motto of building the system is for the research in space, weather forecasting, bio informatics, seismic data analysis, scientific data processing, pharmaceutical development and aeronautical engineering.

Through National Knowledge Network Educational Institutes like IIT and NIT's can be linked to the computer.
