After suspension from the Olympics, the India Olympics Association will not get funds from Indian Oil Corporation and the officials will not be invited for Olympics and Paralympics.
The athletes will not be able to compete under the Indian flag and they will be permitted to compete the IOC flag. Same sanctions will be considered in Asian Games and Common Wealth Games as the Olympic Council of Asia and the Common Wealth Games Foundation are also going to follow the change.
It is considered as the government interference in the Olympics movement by the IOC. It is following the sport's code of the government in IOA elections which is against the Olympic charter.
The top official were said to be go ahead because the IOA elections were just after a day of the suspension. Delhi high court has asked the sports body to conduct the elections as their own constitution and sports code. They are going ahead to the elections and they have not received any official letter from the IOC.
IOC has taken the decision after IOA's bid for two member commission to explicate its position. The incoming president of IOA Abhey Singh Chautala has quoted it as a one sided decision, he told the media that a letter has sent to IOC regarding the matter to send two officials for discussing but there was no response from the IOC.
The member of IOC Ranbir Singh did not attend the meeting in Lausanne as the members of countries had asked to stay away from the meeting. The first warning of suspension was given on 23rd November after the letters to IOA to follow the Olympic charter and another warning was given 5 days ago.
Sports minister Jitendra Singh considered it as an unfortunate decision and he also said that there was no response from the IOC.
