Ratan Tata who turned a traditional industrial business in to a modern global business of $100 billion is going to retire from the chairman post of Tata Group. He is turning 75 and 44 year old Cyrus Mistri was chosen as successor in the last year. He has become a formal chairman in the beginning of this month.
Ratan Tata has taken the leadership for 21 years and he took the leadership of the group from JRD Tata. Now Cyrus Mistri was chosen from the family of Shapurji Palonji and having 18% sharing in the Tata Group. He was chosen by a selecting team of 5 members. The revenue of the group has increased by $100.6 billion in the tenure of Tata. This group has acquired many global companies and become a multi-national company. It has considered as a global group that has made a milestone in business era.
