Former chairman of TATA Group Mr. Ratan Tata has stated that due to the destructive competition in the airlines industry, his group might not enter into this business again. Tata Group had started Nagar Airline service in India few years ago. In the decade of 1990 they started airline business with Singapore International Airlines; he remembered those days and said that today this industry is very different from that time.
Tata also said that it has become like the telecom industry and there is a flood of companies and some of them are in financial crisis. Today I will hesitate in get into this because there will be more unhealthy competition.
He said that in foreign countries companies face bankruptcy but here in India their operational work remain started. When he asked about for bribe of 15 crore in the matter of Tata-Singapore airline proposal he said this is true but that time Nagar Airlines did not ask the money directly.
He also said about the selfishness between private sector and government laboratories that some people do not want private membership in these sectors and that are why the partnership of private unit is limited in this industry.
