Jaipur, Senior IAS officer and state Additional Chief Secretary VS Singh (57) died in a road accident in front of the gate of Central Park on Tonk Road. He was returning home at Hirabag flats after having morning walk at 7:30 am in the central Park. At the same time car running at uncontrollable speed mounting on the divider hit Mr. Singh.

IAS VS Singh has left us with his memories in this dreadful road accident.

When riot broke out in 1992 when VS Singh was Collector in Jaipur and I was Tehsildar, Sakti Singh Sisodia (RAS Officer) said. During riot, 9th December, VS Singh stayed in "Yaadgar" by day and night making control room.

The meeting was being held to get over riots then Divisional Commissioner and Secretary to Governor N.K Bairwa said to VS Singh that the Governor M. Chenna Reddy came to meet him at the royal palace. VS Singh said there are riots in the city so I would stay in the control room it is more important. He denied for meeting to M. chenna before all present officers. Bairwa tried to explain to him, but he did not budge.

"He played vital role to ban plastic POLYTHENE and GUTAKHA", D.N. pandey said. When VS Singh was Chief Home Secretary and I was home minister, Gulab Chand Kataria said. He was really a troubleshooter, also added.
