Spread joy and happiness on Makar Sankranti 2013

There are many festivals celebrated in the largest state of the country Rajasthan. Holi, Deepawali and Navratri are very joyful and important occasions. Capital city Jaipur which is also known as Paris of the country is a very happening place to live in.

Makar Sankranti is also known as Kite festival which is celebrated on transition of the Sun from Sagittarius to Capricorn means Dhanu rashi to Makar rashi. In pink city Jaipur, it is a most auspicious occasion. People take a dip in Galtaji pond which is a holy pilgrim of the city. People fly kites and the whole sky looks colorful and vibrant. They pray in front of God Sun after the holy bath for good wealth, health.

Farmers wish for their new crop to be fresh and good. People organize kite competitions and games at big level. This tradition explores the beginning of new season and crop that brings happiness and enthusiasm for New Year. Makar Sankranti is celebrated on January 14th every year with full joy as the Sun started its journey northwards.
