After the killing of 112 people by fire in a garments factory of Bangladesh, the owner of the factory said that he was not informed about the need of fire-exit in the building.
The Tazreen Fashion Ltd. located in Dhaka, was a maker of cloths for Wal-Mart, Disney, Sears and other big global retailers. After the huge fire over 1400 workers were trapped inside the factory because of the locked exit doors. If there was an emergency exit then the death toll would have been much less.
Delwar Hossain, the factory owner said that he was never advised to make an emergency exit and he would have done this if somebody has told me about the need. A reporter also visited the factory has quoted that there was no fire-exit apart from three stairways and doors were locked.
Tazreen Fashion is one of the a dozen factories those are owned by Hossain.
