The tradition of Kalpwas is very old in Sangam. It is believed that the fruit of the kalpwas (spiritual practices) at the coast of the Sangam is equal to the virtue earned by four ages' penance, meditation, and charity. That's why millions of devotees improve their four ages by doing kalpwas for one month at the coast to the Sangam.
After 12 years, millions of devotees have started to come for kalpwas at the coast of Sangam this year too. Some of these devotees belong to neither this city nor this country. These are foreign devotees who reached at the coast of the Triveni to understand it by hearing about Ganga and Sangam and they will stay on the ground to purify their heart &soul. A small town is set up by these foreign devotees.
Indeed, kalpwas is a kind of discipline (Sadhana), which is done all the magh month long at the bank of the Sangam and other holy rivers. For this kalpwas, hundreds of devotees come to India from foreign.
