The hot segment of last year from Indian customers was SUV diesel cars which is a premium car for attraction. Many companies have launched their products in this category and it has got high response than premium sedan due to good production. SUV or compact SUV has taken the place of sedan so premium sedan series has not increased its sales in this year.
Indian car market is walking towards SUVs like other developed countries so SUV is on the top in the list of highest sales. In 2012, Renault Duster and Mahindra XUV 500 and many more vehicles have changed the market trend. If we talk about 2013 than many companies are going to launch their new vehicles in this range. The main focus of almost all companies is SUV or MPV vehicle.
Indian customers are getting dependent on these kind of automobiles so their first priority is SUVs instead of premium sedan cars. In 2012, the sales of premium sedan cars has not got any increment in sales in Indian market. Automobile manufacturer giant Maruti is going to launch its AXA Alfa soon and it is based on Duster of Renault.
Nissan and Renault has a joint venture and they will also introduce this kind of vehicle. Nissan India is planning to launch its new SUV at the end of this year. Accordingly many other companies are planning to introduce their vehicles in this category. Hyundai, Nissan, Ford, Mahindra, Tata and Maruti etc are stepping down in this segment.
