Today, Honda has launched its next generation Jazz in India between the price range of INR 5.30 Lac to INR 8.59 Lac, ex-showroom, New Delhi. This latest hatchback has hit the Indian showroom in total five trims, E, S, SV, V and VX that are enough to throw down the selling graph of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai Elite i20. Its top end variant is available with a 15.7 inch touchscreen AVN system comprising DVD and navigation, Magic Seat function, black seat upholstery, adjustable rear headrests, rear spoiler, recline rear seats, 60:40 seat back, seat back pocket, rear and front mudguards.
Coming to the other features, the new Jazz gets instrument cluster with Blue illumination and Eco Assist, electrically adjustable ORVMs, auto AC with touch controls, driver seatbelt, key reminder, lane change indicator and ABS along EBD. Under the hood, Honda offers two powertrain options, such as a 1.5 litre Earth Dreams i-DTEC diesel engine producing the outputs of 110 PS and 200 Nm, and a 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol unit to churn out a maximum power of 90 PS and a peak torque of 110 Nm.
The former has been claimed to be the second most fuel efficient diesel cars in India, returning the ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 27.3 km/l. While the oil burner variant is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the petrol version receives two transmission options, a 6-speed manual and first in segment CVT with paddle shifter.
Both of these gearbox choices help this model to confer an appreciable mileage of 18.7 km/l and 19 km/l, respectively.
