Earlier in January, Xiaomi has made the announcement of new MIUI version and stated that now we will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. The MIUI 10 would take the place of MIUI 9 that was unveiled in July 2017 and came to India in November 2017 with a tagline "as fast as lightning". As per the teaser image posted by the company on Weibo MIUI account indicating that the new MIUI 10 would come with a tagline “faster than lightning" to attract Mi fans; the teaser image also revealed the date and location where the company would preview the new MIUI version.

This pointing towards that the MIUI 10 would come with better advancement features, performance enhancements, and updated UI. As of now, the company has not announced which smartphone will come with new version of MIUI, but we are anticipating that Mi 8 flagship smartphone would run on MIUI 10 from the day of its launch. In terms of hardware, the Chinese company previously declared that the new MIUI 10 would not support Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Apart from better performance, it is speculated that the MIUI 10 is likely to come with new themes, upgraded UI, battery saving features and updated Settings app. The quite interesting part is that the new MIUI version would be equipped with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) inside the UI as well as the camera app which obviously make the new MIUI an advanced custom ROM for Android users.

Particularly for Xiaomi Mi 8, the new MIUI 10 is likely to come with a proprietary facial recognition feature along which might be utilized 3D face sensing module. The Beijing- based company is working upon facial recognition feature similar to Apple\'s Face ID that is currently available in Apple iPhone X.

It seems that the new MIUI version would take ample of time to arrive in your smartphone. The company would require several months to bring Over the Air (OTA) software update in older smartphones.
