Just yesterday, U.S based smartphone maker Motorola (which recently got acquired by Lenovo) at its New Delhi event uncovered the fourth generation Moto G smartphones in India in two different variants dubbed under the names of Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. The company now has again come up with another variant dubbed the Moto G4 Play which is scheduled to go on sale starting mid-summer of 2016. The company is yet to disclose information related to the pricing of the Android smartphone, however as of now the enthusiastic users can sign-up to get its availability details alongside other information. The smartphone, for now, is listed only in U.S region.
In terms of specifications of the Moto G4 Play smartphone, we observe that unlike G4 and G4 Plus who happens to be Dual-SIM smartphones, G4 Play on the contrary is a Single-SIM cell phone featuring a 5-inch HD display with a pixel density of 294ppi and giving a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone comes powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz. The handset further comes with 2GB RAM and the Adreno 306GPU and packs 16GB of built-in storage that similar to its siblings is expandable up to 128GB using external microSD card.
The GSM-based handset further comes with water repellent nano-coating and operates on latest Android OS i.e., Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 and on the camera fronts, it sports an 8-megapixel rear camera that is exactly half of the camera specs of Moto G4 Plus since it sports a 16-megapixel rear camera . The rear camera further comes equipped with an aperture of f/2.2 alongside incorporating several features like tap anywhere to capture, burst mode, auto HDR, panorama, drag to focus & exposure, alongside having the capacity to record full-HD videos at 30 fps. The device also sports a 5-megapixel camera on the front end which ain't considered as bad with respect to selfie-lovers.
Last but not the least, the device offers standard connectivity options like GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, and Micro-USB and as per reports, the device is available in two color shades namely Black and White. The company has also promised its users to give two years of free storage in Google Photos without compromising on the picture quality. The gadget further comes equipped with a lot of smartphone sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. It houses a 2800mAh battery that is claimed to offer full-day battery life and is compatible with 10W rapid charger which is sold separately.
