Motorola to Make Available Moto G4 via Amazon for INR 12,499

It looks like Motorola the American company has fulfilled its long-awaited promise by revealing the price of its latest smartphone i.e, Moto G4 in India. As per the reports, the smartphone would be available for INR 12,499 via Amazon India starting this Wednesday across the nation.

One must not forget that both Motorola G4 and its sibling Motorola G4 Plus got unveiled recently in the month of May, where the G4 Plus also got launched for different price cuts. The basic variant featuring 2GB RAM/16GB storage capacity was priced at Rs. 13,499 while the higher variant of the same product that offered 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant was priced at Rs. 14,999.

Not only the price both the Android smartphones are identical in terms of specifications as well since Moto G4 too operates on Android M v6.0 OS and offers Dual-SIM support. The device sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display that gives a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels alongside a pixel density of 401ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for extra protection.

Under the hood, the GSM-device is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (MSM8952) SoC coupled with an Adreno 405 GPU. While the Moto G4 Plus came equipped with 3GB RAM variant, the Moto G4 only bears 2GB of RAM and even misses out on the fingerprint sensor that comes embedded on the home button of the Moto G4 Plus.

Even on the photography aspects, the smartphones differ since Moto G4 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) apart from a dual-LED colour-balancing flash, while Moto G4 Plus offered a 16-megapixel rear camera, with laser autofocus. However, both the devices sport the same 5-megapixel camera on the front side with an 84-degree wide field of view and a f/2.2 aperture.

In the terms of memory storage, Moto G4 offers only one option of 16GB storage with expansion ability up to 128GB which again falls short as compared to Moto G4 Plus that other than offering 16GB variant also offers the 32GB variant option to its users.

In terms of connectivity, Moto G4 comes onboard with 4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and GPS/ A-GPS options and other than carrying a weight of 155 grams, it dimensionally measures 153x76.6x9.8mm with its thinnest point being 7.9mm thick. The device is further powered by a 3000mAh battery that as per company claims can deliver up to 24 hours of mixed usage battery life. Apart from missing on the fingerprint sensor, the device also lacks TurboCharger, that is an important asset of the Moto G4 Plus. The handset additionally offers an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor on board.
