Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has all over again launched two new smartphones for its Indian users as a part of 'Made in India' initiative. Both of the Android smartphones are easy on the pockets as their price tags lie below that of Rs 10,000.
The newly launched Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime as stated are nominally priced at just Rs 6,999 and Rs 8,999. Users can purchase Redmi 3S Prime from August 9 while Redmi 3S a week later from the official website Mi.com as well as e-commerce website Flipkart. One must note that Redmi 3S has by far been made available only in the markets of China and India would be the first overseas market to see the product launch.
Both the handsets come under the category of Dual-SIM smartphones as they support both Micro SIM as well as Nano SIM. The structure is designed in a way that a hybrid slot is present that permits user to insert either its second SIM into it or the microSD card depending on the requirement. The company also claims that both Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime are first ever products to feature Snapdragon 430 chipset.
In terms of specifications, Redmi 3S comes packed with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.1GHz additionally clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU. The GSM-handset offers 2GB RAM with 16GB of built-in storage capacity that can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card. The handset comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display that gives a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and operates on MiUi 7.5 OS designed on the footsteps of Android Marshmallow v6.0 OS.
The smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the rear side with PDAF (Phase detection autofocus), HDR mode and 1080p video recording support alongside support for LED flash. Not just the rear camera, even the front 5-megapixel camera gives support for 1080p video recording.
Both handsets are backed by a 4100mAh power battery which was last observed on Redmi 3 too. On the dimension front, the devices measure 139.3x69.6x8.5 mm and carries a weight of 144 grams.
As far as Redmi 3S Prime is concerned, it features the same specifications as seen on its sibling. The only factor that differentiates both the handsets is the presence of fingerprint sensor on the back panel of Redmi 3S Prime. Another aspect that makes it different is that it offers 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard capacity with expansion support up to 128GB using microSD card.
