Xiaomi Unveils Redmi 3X With 2GB RAM

The Chinese smartphone Xiaomi recently unveiled successor of Redmi 3 under the name of Redmi 3S and as per the latest reports, the company has now officially unwrapped another new product Redmi 3X for a price of CNY 899 (nearly INR 9,000) and though it looks identical to Redmi 3S, the only difference is that the smartphone actually is exclusive to Chinese mobile carrier known by the name of China Unicom.

Another thing that relates both the Xiaomi products is the similarity of specifications in both. Though they do are different on a lot of things like Redmi 3X is available only in one variant which sports 2GB RAM and gives 32GB of storage capacity, whilst Redmi 3S came in two variants one featuring 2GB RAM and 16GB storage option and the other one giving 3GB RAM with a storage capacity of 64GB. The former variant was priced at CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000), while the latter one became available for CNY 899 (approximately Rs. 9,000).

Not just specifications, the devices differ in terms of even dimensions as well since the newly released Redmi 3X measures 139.7x69.7x8.5mm as compared to 139.3x69.6x8.5mm measurements of Redmi 3S. Secondly, Redmi 3X is even 2 grams heavier from the Redmi 3S since it carries a weight of 146 grams while Redmi 3S came for nearly 144 grams.

Taking a closer look at the specification of the latest smartphone, we observe that Redmi 3X comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.1GHz coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. The device comes in two variants as mentioned above, but its storage can also be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The Dual-SIM handset (Micro + Nano) comes with hybrid SIM slot which means the user can use the second slot as a microSD slot in case he feels doing so and the GSM-handset also comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back panel which was observed in Redmi 3S as well.

On the display front, the latest smartphone features a 5-inch HD IPS display giving a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and operates on Xiaomi's official MiUi v7 which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The device in terms of the camera comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), f2.0 aperture, HDR mode, 1080p video recording, and LED flash and also offers a 5-megapixel camera on the front side that comes preloaded with 1080p video recording feature. Not just this, the device also offers standard connectivity options that include 4G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Glonass, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Micro-USB support.

The handset is backed by a 4100mAh battery just like the original Redmi 3 and the Xiaomi Redmi 3X will be made available in just two color variants namely Silver, and Gold.
