As per a recent report on Motorbash, 2016 Toyota Fortuner had been already introduced in Thailand automobile industry, while in India it is to be launched in 2017. Mr. N Raja, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Ltd., states that, in India they will take 24-30months to launch.“So that will take it to 2017”, he told the publication. Localizing the SUV and vendor development are reported to be the main reasons behind launching second generation Fortuner in 24-30 months post its premier.

On Thailand road, it is running with three engine options- a petrol and two diesel. A petrol version car gets the energy from a 2.7-liter VVT-i is bearing from the previous generation Fortuner. The diesel car carries a new ‘GD’ engine family. The diesel one will be packed with a 2.4- and 2.8-liter units, clubbed to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Talking about cosmetic features, it will have new slim twin slat grille embossed between solid headlights. Furthermore, it gets re-designed front bumper, a pair of new fog lights and much more.
