Because of many iconic Beetles and Kombi buses which includes many classic car collectors garage, Volkswagen is the well-known brand in India from past many years and never falls from putting a smile on the faces of other road users.
The Folks India group and Autocar India along with Volkswagen India and D’Gipro teamed up to celebrate these beautiful classics and organized the VolksWeekend meet in which we can see classic VWs from all across India which will be assembled in Goa. There will be some new classics such as 1600 L, the Golf and the Scirocco and all the kinds of air-cooled VW will be part of the drive.

From 1956, i.e after World War II, Dr Robert Hepp, a German national, arrived in Goa and imported Volkswagen Beetle and from there, Goa’s followership with VWs started. The brand Beetle became hit between Goans because he opened a dealership in Panaji.
Approx. 1,000 VWs were sold in the state and the German Brand became best seller in the state. Many of them were the Beetle and Type 2 van, with some Karmann Ghias, Sciroccos and Golfs, and few of them will be part of the VolksWeekend drive which will take place on November 3-4 2018. Nepal will also be there as a participant.
