There is a lot of excitement in the automobile market for the upcoming Baleno that will launch today in India. Maruti Suzuki has left no stone unturned in promoting this premium hatchback, whether its through the website, banners or teased images. The car had been caught testing several times with and without camouflage and now the time is finally here when the hatch is all set to arrive for sale. As Diwali is round the corner, the automaker has intelligently scheduled the launch so that more and more customers are attracted so as to opt for the purchase of Baleno.

This car will be rolled out with several variants namely Alpha, Sigma, Delta, and Zeta. All these trims will be carrying important safety features like ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, anti-theft security system, seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters as standard across the range. Other significant features include the likes of Apple CarPlay accompanied by 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, 2-DIN audio with Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, navigation facility, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, projector headlamps, etc.

The engine has been borrowed from the Swift siblings that comprise a 1.2 litre VVT found in the hatchback and a 1.3 litre DDiS unit fitted in the compact sedan. The former develops maximum output of 83Bhp/115Nm, whereas the latter is good enough for developing 74Bhp/190Nm. There will be a five-speed manual gearbox for handling transmission, but the Delta trim will come with a CVT unit.
The all new Maruti Baleno will be available for sale exclusively in the Nexa showrooms and the bookings have already kicked off. After its launch, it is going to fight for the market share with models like Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai Elite i20. As far as the price is concerned, it could range from INR 5.5 Lacs to INR 9 Lacs (ex-showroom).
