Bajaj, though, is not making any move at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo, still is in the limelight by announcing the new product just two days before the moto event. Sources affirmed that Bajaj has made a proclamation about a press conference on February 1 and will unveil a new commuter bike (Codename X), which will go on sale by March. While, the brand has been tight-lipped about the extra details of the motorcycle yet, this new Tourer is surely going to be a star of the event.

We have previously seen the spied images of the motorcycle fairly well. Reports said that the bike is codenamed X and will be placed in the executive segment. A new 150cc motor will power the bike that is expected to churn out 14BHP of power, mated to a five-speed transmission. When it comes to product placement, it is going to sit between the Discover 150F and the Pulsar AS150. Bajaj is anticipating a lot from this new 150cc commuter motorcycle as this will probably change the game, like the Bajaj Pulsar did in the sports segment in 2001.

In terms of design, the new Tourer is expected to flaunt with its sharp amazing looks. Although, the Pune-based automaker tried a bit hard to put ourselves in disguise about the exterior of the bike, but thanks to the previous spy shots, a far better picture of the prototype model was captured and revealed a lot about the same.
Eric Vas, President (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto, conveyed, “Apart from the fact that we will be launching a new bike, as of now we call it ‘brand X’; will be positioned in what we call the mature space in the executive segment.”
