The Toyota Yaris was introduced with a price tag of Rs. 8.75 lakh in India and joined the midsize sedan segment which includes the Skoda Rapid, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. As concerning the price and feature richness in sedan segment of Verna, it goes to compete with newly launched Yaris which is also loaded with important features.
1. Verna Vs Yaris In Dimensions:
The Yaris is slightly wider(1mm) and taller to the Verna, whereas Hyundai Verna is longer to the Yaris. The wheelbase is also bigger in Verna as compared to Yaris. The Verna has a bigger boot approximately 4 litres. The seating arrangement in Toyota Yaris is lower but can cross the medium-sized speed breakers without hurting underneath for being ground clearance enough positioned.
2. Engine:
The Yaris is available with only single petrol engine option and the Hyundai Verna is available in two petrol engine options. We are comparing only the petrol engine of both sedans. The Yaris is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine generating 108PS/140 Nm, whereas the Verna Petrol lower variant is powered by a 1.4-litre petrol producing 100PS/132Nm. Further, the 1.6-litre petrol engine in Verna churns out 123PS/151Nm. The Verna and Yaris both are available with automatic options. Whereas the Yaris comes taking a CVT along with paddle shifters and the Verna takes a 6-speed torque converter.
The Yaris J variant is a feature-rich sedan. Further, Hyundai Verna 1.4-litre engine based E variant is a base variant and The base-spec Yaris is a better choice as by paying Rs. 75,000 extra you will get features equivalent to mid-spec EX variant of the Verna.

Comfort: It features rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, 8-way power-adjustable driver&s seat, dual rear power sockets, paddle shifters, keyless entry, roof-mounted rear AC vents and push-button start/stop.
Flashy: The Yaris VX variant obtains LED line guide in the rear split lamps, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), a sunroof, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and projector headlamps.
Safety: It has vehicle stability control, rear defogger, auto headlamps, all-four disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors, impact-sensing auto door lock/unlock, hill start assist control, standard 7 airbags, ABS and speed-sensing.
Top-Spec Hyundai Verna Features: Comfort: Hyundai Verna Top-Spec Variant features push-button start/stop, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto support, rear AC vents, cruise control, Apple CarPlay support, tilt-adjustable steering, ventilated seats, Flashy: It obtains LED DRLs, Auto Link (connected car technology), 16-inch diamond cut alloys and electric sunroof. Safety: It has reverse parking sensors, speed sensing, 6 airbags, impact sensing auto door lock/unlock rear camera with dynamic guidelines, and auto headlamps.

Comparing the top-spec models of the Verna and Yaris, Yaris is priced Rs. 1.46 lakh more which is relevant as Yaris has more desirable features to consider as a complete package.
The Toyota Yaris has priced in the range of Rs 8.75 lakh to Rs 14.07 lakh, while Hyundai Verna is available with a price range of Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 12.56 lakh in India.
