Volkswagen, German Automobile manufacturer has officially unveiled the ‘Connect Edition’ of its Polo, Ameo and Vento in India. All three cars come with Volkswagen 'Intelligence Connect Vehicle Assistance System. "

The Volkswagen Polo, Ameo and Vento Connect Edition are to be made available in a price range of Rs 5.55 to 9.39 lakh, Rs 5.65 to 9.99 lakh and Rs 8.38 to 14.02 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). The quite interesting part is that the prices of Connect Editions are similar to the regular models. Furthermore, the company has announced that the Connect Edition will be made available at no additional cost.

The special edition comes with a dongle which can be connected to the OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port. It allows the owners to connect/ pair their smartphone by using Volkswagen Connect app that is available to download at Google Play Store and Apple Store. Furthermore, it allows the users to track the activities of the car trip when the smartphone is connected via Bluetooth to the vehicle) and it comes with features like trip tracking, fuel cost monitoring, driving behaviour, location sharing, service appointment, SOS call and more.

"Volkswagen is transforming into a mobility provider with the aim to offer fully connected vehicle fleets,” said Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars. "In India, with Volkswagen Connect and the recently launched ‘Digital Workplace’ experience, we aim to completely digitalize the customer experience right from pre to post-purchase experiences.”

From the exterior front, the Connected Edition of Polo, Ameo and Vento features a glossy finish roof and side foils, 16-inch grey Portago alloy wheels, wing mirrors with a black carbon finish and a chrome-finished Connect badge on the fender.

From the interior point of view, all three cars have leatherette seat covers, Connect Dongle and aluminium pedals.

To entice customers, Volkswagen has also launched a new 'Lapiz Blue' color options for its Polo, Ameo and Vento cars. The Volkswagen Polo Highline Plus Vento Model comes with dual front side airbags for the safety purpose.

The Connect Editions have no changes in the engine part. The Polo and Ameo have the same 76hp, 1.0-litre petrol, while the Polo offers 105hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor in GT variant. The 90hp 1.5-litre diesel on the Polo variant and the 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel on the Ameo variant are also same in the mechanicals. Meanwhile the Vento comes with the engine power of 105hp, 1.6-litre petrol motor.
