Datsun Redi-Go Teased Ahead of its Scheduled Launch on April 14, 2016

In order to compete against Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and the Renault Kwid in the segment, Datsun is all set to launch its smallest car Redi-Go in India. Despite all the arrangement of its world premier on April 14, the company has also released one of its teaser image officially that outlines the exterior design of this new entry level hatchback.

As we had earlier updated, the Datsun Redi-Go is the second model after the Renault Kwid that is based on the Renault-Nissan alliance's CMF-A platform. The first concept model was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo that borrows similar features as Kwid and adding further additional accessories as well. It includes a hexagonal grille, chromed bumper, LED fog lamps, sweptback headlamps with DRLs and sculpted bonnet. Besides, the hatchback also comes with high ground clearance.

Under the hood, the Redi-Go is likely to get propelled by an 800 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 53.2 Bhp of power and 72 Nm of torque. Besides, the variant could be powered by a 1.0-litre motor in future. For transmission, a 5-speed manual or an AMT could be mated to the engine. Incorporating such specs, Redi-Go is likely to be priced between INR 2.5 Lakhs to INR 3.25 Lakhs.
