After first showcased at this year’s Delhi Auto Expo along with the two other models, we notified about the company's digital campaign for the Urban Cross and its launch date in India. Now we will finally see it being launched in the country in next month. The Urban Cross is another car which is quite inspired by the company’s flagship Punto hatchback.
The all new Urban Cross is based on the Fiat Avventura crossover, but it gets some updated and few unique features as well to its exteriors and interiors, if the car launches as is shown in Auto Expo.
At the front, it receives a newly designed grill unlike the all other offerings from the brand. The headlamps are also redesigned with the more attractive bezel around. The foglamps are integrated to the front bumper with the black surrounds. Unlike the Avventura, the new Urban Cross does not feature the rear-mounted spare tyre at the rear end. Further, the car also gets bigger 17-inch wheels, while the stylish roof-rails and follow-me-home headlamps are added to the package.
In terms of dimension, the Urban Cross is marginally different from the Avventura, it measures 4,000 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height. Though, the exterior changes to this car do not make much difference from the iconic body language of the brand. However, the cabin work is a notch above the all previous models. Inside, the car offers dual-tone interior theme, and a touchscreen infotainment display with connectivity and navigation features.
Under the hood, the Urban Cross is powered by the same 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol machine that also beats the Abarth Punto. It means we only get the single engine option that churns out a maximum power of 138 bhp and 210 Nm of peak torque. The power unit will be mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox.
More details such as exact launch date, price etc. are yet to be announced by the company on a later date. Although, on the basis of above scenario, we can say the Urban Cross will be priced under the INR 10.0 lakh.
