Hero MotoCorp that is noted as the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer managed to set a world record in the month of September this year. Overall, the company that enjoys a market share of 46 per cent sold a total of 7,69,138 units of scooters and motorcycles that is the highest ever recorded sale in a month.
For the first time ever, any two-wheeler manufacturer in the Indian biking industry attained that milestone of selling over 7.5 lakh units in a month. Also, it could also be considered as a record that the company has surpassed sales over 7 lakh for the fifth time in its history. Out of which, three milestones are achieved this fiscal.
This financial year from April to September 2018, Hero MotoCorp has dispatched a total of 42 lakh units that is expected to touch a new vertex this festive season.

FYI, the models range of the Splendor and the Passion that is highly preferable as an entry-level commuter in the country, remained the major volume generator for the company. Also, the automaker started the sale of its premium motorcycle in the 200cc segment, the Hero Xtreme 200R in the similar month of September. To promote its upcoming flagship, Hero has hired Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the new brand ambassador. Altogether, the TV commercials which are showcasing Virat Kohli promoting the Xtreme 200 R has aired.
Other than the Xtreme 200R, we could see three other products in the coming future including the Hero Duet-Destini, Maestro and the Hero Xpulse 200R. They have already been showcased at the Auto Expo this year and are plausible to hit the Indian soil later this year.
It is pretty surprising that the Hero MotoCorp managed to attain such record sales when the two-wheelers across the country witnessed a hike in on-road prices with new IRDA regulations that mandated a five-year insurance cover for third party insurance.
