Hero MotoCorp, which is renowned as the largest two-wheeler manufacturer across the globe, has a long tail of products and mostly in the commuter segment, which caters almost 46 percent share of the Indian motoring Industry. But, recently it has been found that a number of products ranging from Rs 49,800 to Rs 84,780 have been eliminated from the company’s official portal. However, the reasons behind products discontinuation were not revealed by the giant auto major. Rumors suggest, there could be various factors behind this elimination. It could be continues fall in products sales or the recent emission norms transition from BS-III to stringent BS-IV norms or anything else. Below is a list of a few models, which are no longer a part of Hero’s Indian product portfolio now.

Hero Passion xPro:
Hero Passion xPro was an improved variant of Hero’s one of the most popular motorcycles for a daily commute. It was launched in late 2012. In terms of powering, it gets propelling power from an 110cc single cylinder four stroke engine of the Honda 110cc commuter bike. But the interesting fact was that vertically inclined positioning of the mill, first time in Hero’s history.
The Hero Passion xPro introduction was a part of brand’s strategy to suppress the increasing charm of Honda Dream Yuga 110 in the audience. But this month it was not there in the Heros lineup, may be the disappointing sales figures made the bike maker to bring back the Passion xPro from the lineup.
Hero Passion Pro TR:
Hero Passion Pro TR, in the name TR stands for TRANS ROADER, was basically a rugged version of existing Passion Pro in the lineup. The company had introduced this commuter in late 2014, in order to offer some freshness in the Indian lineup. It was one of the attention seeker in Hero’s models, which got some quirky features such as grille protector headlamp, bash plate for engine protection and all-road tyre, to grant an adventure bike feel to the motorcycle.
Initially, the product gets an overwhelming customer response but after a few years, the Passion Pro TR faced continues downfall in the market so finally the bike maker decided to remove this product from the existing lineup.

Hero Ignitor:
A bike with the bikini fairing, was a replica of the Honda CBF Stunner, not only in design and styling but also at the powering front. The motorcycle used the same 125cc engine and propelling tech of the Honda Stunner, but the engine was tuned to deliver peak torque at low rpm of 5000 as compared to 6500 rpm.
The Hero Ignitor was introduced in the Indian market in June 2012 and received positive customer response, but later with the falling sales, it becomes hard to bike maker to keep this tourer continue in its lineup.
Hero Hunk:
The most surprising were the Hero Hunk discontinuation as it was one of the motorcycles in premium commuters with good looks. Altogether, the motorcycle was also serving Indian audience from long years. And, it’s removal from the Hero’s lineup is like unacceptable for its lovers as the bike maker has updated this bike (featuring Xtreme Sports’ 15.6bhp engine) the same month with the BS-IV emission norms features.
But for now, the Hero Hunk is no more the part of brand’s existing lineup, as the company decided to take off non-performing models from the lineup.
Hero Xtreme:
Hero Xtreme, which was also a premium commuter in company’s portfolio, made its entrance into the Indian market with the iconic CBZ brand name. But besides this famous moniker, the motorcycle could not be able to continue the same sales graph after a few months of its launch.
Last time, the motorcycle got the upgrades in 2014 as a sports version of the Xtreme but once again it got failed to attract an audience. So finally, Hero decided to axe the lesser Xtreme model from the lineup.
Hero Karizma R:
Hero Karizma R was on the top in the Hero’s premium products and was powered by the carry forwarded a 223cc, single cylinder engine of the old generation Karizma but get tuned to develop 19.2bhp at 7500rpm and 19.35Nm at 6000rpm to better performance.
But with the introduction of the Karizma ZMR latest version which was critically acclaimed to being overdone at designing end and no improvement at performance end made the Karizma lovers to tend towards the Pulsar 220F, which ended up the journey of Karizma R completely. And this month Hero has also eliminated it from its official web portal.
