Hyundai re-launches Verna in three new engine variants

Hyundai has announced a 1.4-litre diesel option, along with a 1.6-litre engine, for its famous Verna sedan. For the base E variant, Hyundai Verna 1.4-litre diesel costs Rs 9.29 lakh and on the other hand Verna 1.4 diesel EX is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The engine of the Verna 1.4 diesel is same as the i20 hatchback i.e. 1396cc 90hp.

For Verna 1.6 range, Hyundai has launched two variants. The Verna 1.6 petrol will get a new SX+ trim placed between the Verna EX and the Verna SX (O) automatic. It also comes with projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, power folding wing mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, a 7-inch infotainment system, wireless charging and push-button start. The Hyundai Verna 1.6 petrol auto SX+ costs 11.52 lakh.

The Hyundai Verna 1.6-diesel SX (O) is of the perfect range and it comes with adjustable rear seat headrests, ventilated leather seats, telescopic steering and instead of two airbags it gets six. The new 1.6 diesel auto SX (O) variant is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh.

In the Indian market, the Hyundai is likely to compete against the Maruti Ciaz, the Skoda Rapid, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and the Toyota Yaris.
