According to the company sources, the defect has been found with the switch that is used to make the brake lights work but due to some technical problem, the brake light is unable to turn off. Due to this, many owners claimed that this created confusion about the braking of the Elantra while driving.
The car maker has directed the Us dealerships to replace the pedal stopper at no cost. The problem can be rectified by replacing the brake pedal stopper which tends to wear after some time. This leads to the improper functioning of the brake light. However, the company noticed the problem in 2014 when many claims were raised in the warranty period for this issue. The claims didn’t stop and went on increasing by the year 2015 and 2016. So, the company decided to recall the affected cars.
