Unveiled at the2 015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the next-generation Hyundai Elantra is likely to go on sale in early september 2016. The test mule of the new Elantra a.k.a Avante in home market spied approx a month ago, while performing tests in Chennai. The frequent appearances of the much awaited sedan clarifies that company is all prepared to land this update soon in the Indian market. Discontinuing the usual fluidic design language, the Korean giant sculpted the fresh Elantra with some fresh and mature theme to give it a edgier and bold look.
Built around the 53 percent Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), refresh Elantra gets large hexagonal grille, boomerang shaped air intake with the LED fog lamps on bumper. Beneath the hood, probably the Elantra will get the propelling power from the same 1.6litre petrol and diesel motors. Speculation around, a new 2.0litre petrol engine might be witnessed on the Indian bound Elantra and the ongoing 1.6litre diesel engine could get revised. For optimised performance, the car can hold hands with the provided options, 6-speed manual and automatic.
Expected to carry the price tag in between 15 lakh- 18 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2016 Hyundai Elantra will lock horns with the Skoda Octavia and new Volkswagen Jetta.
