Hyundai to Unveil All-New Santro with great styling and AMT as an option

The next-gen Hyundai Santro is creating all the right buzz before its global unveiling. Scheduled for an official unveiling on October 10, the iconic tall-boy hatchback has managed to tickle all the right boxes before the big day. From its leaked images to news of its aggressive pricing, the Korean Automaker must be happy with the hype before the official launch. Santro for the first time gets an AMT option with its new Avatar. And the reported price tag of Rs. 4 lakh will only make one of India’s favorite family car more appealing than before. It is claimed that the new-gen Santro with AMT(optional) could change Hyundai’s fortunes in the budget car segment.

The 5-speed manual trim of the all-new Santro will be priced at Rs 3.7 lakh. The Standard AMT variant gets dearer by Rs 30,000. On the roads, the new Santro will lock horns with the likes of Rs 4.21 lakh Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Rs 3.40 lakh Tata Tiago. The premium Santro AMT will cost around Rs 5.4 lakh. Bookings open on October 10. Top Spec trims may not get AMT. But your entertainment needs are well taken care of with 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood, The Hyundai Santro will carry a 1.1-litre 63hp petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. AMT will be offered as an option. A tested fuel economy of 20.3kpl will add to your list of reasons to buy the new Santro. In addition to this, Hyundai may also offer a CNG variant in line with its immediate rival the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. Tata offers no CNG variant for Tiago. But Tiago is offered in a diesel option which neither Santro nor Maruti does for their budget offerings.
