The upcoming Honda BR-V has been revealed at Indonesia and hence certain features of the model have been disclosed in the market. The platform of this upcoming model is borrowed from the company's famous hatchback Brio. The length is slightly more than 4 meters and lookwise, it bears a lot of resemblance to the Mobilio. Basically, it carries the body style of a crossover but considering the space offered by this car, it seems more like an MPV model. The vehicle has been imparted various attractive elements on the exterior portion, but interior is still under veils.
The fact that this car carries a seven-seat configuration allows it to have a competitive edge over the rival models like Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. It will be made available in three to four variants and will look a lot more muscular than the Mobilio MPV. Some of the important equipments which are likely to be found with this crossover include fog lamps, projector headlights, infotainment facility with touchscreen interface and USB connectivity. Apart from this, some necessary components like ABS, multiple airbags, reverse parking, etc will also be featured by the model.
Coming to the mechanical configuration, it will be equipped with a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel motor that will be coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. In addition to this, another powertrain option will be available comprising a 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol unit, mated to a six-speed manual transmission facility along with an optional CVT unit. In India, the BR-V is anticipated to be priced at INR 10.5-14 Lacs (ex-showroom) and is likely to be put on sale by early 2016.
